Abstract

|
목적: 본 연구의 목적은 간호사의 폭력 경험이 외상 후 스트레스 장애에 미치는 영향에서 조직 내 사회적 지지와 회복탄력성의 조절 효과를 파악하기 위함이다.
방법: 폭력 경험을 한 간호사의 외상 후 스트레스 장애에 미치는 영향 요인에서 회복탄력성과 조직 내 사회적 지지의 조절 효과를 확인하기 위한 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 연구 대상자는 근무 기간이 1년 이상이며, 폭력 경험이 있는 일반간호사로 일반적 특성, 폭력 경험, 외상 후 스트레스 장애, 회복탄력성, 조직 내 사회적 지지를 측정하는 설문지를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 정보는 t-검증과 ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient를 이용하여 분석하였다.
결과: 간호사들은 언어적 폭력을 1주에 평균 3.70±2.06회 경험하였고, 신체적 위협은 1달에 평균 2.30±1.71회 경험하였으며, 신체적 폭력은 1년에 0.76±0.82회 경험하였다. 폭력 경험은 외상 후 스트레스 장애와 상당히 관련이 있었다는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 간호사의 언어 폭력 경험과 외상 후 스트레스 장애의 관계에서 회복탄력성이 유의미한 조절 효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 그러나 조직 내 사회적 지지는 폭력 경험과 외상 후 스트레스 장애의 관계에서의 조절 효과는 유의하지 않았다.
결론: 폭력 경험은 간호사의 외상 후 스트레스 장애에 영향을 미치고 회복탄력성에 의해 조절되는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 병원에서는 간호사들의 외상 후 스트레스 장애를 감소시키기 위해 폭력 예방 프로그램과 회복탄력성 강화 프로그램을 개발하여 제공하는 것이 필요하다. 그리고 조직 내 사회적 지지가 폭력 경험에 미치는 영향에 대한 후속 연구를 제안한다.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the relationship between the experiences of workplace violence and post-traumatic stress disorder and the moderating effect of resilience and social support at work on the relationship in tertiary hospital nurses.
Methods: This was a descriptive correlation study to confirm the moderating effect of resilience and social support at work on the factors affecting post-traumatic stress disorder for nurses who have experienced violence. A total of 146 registered nurses were recruited from a tertiary hospital from March to July 2020. The Participants who worked for more than one year and experienced violence at work completed self-reported questionnaires that measured the experiences of workplace violence and post-traumatic stress disorder, resilience, social support at work, and demographic information. The collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis.
Results: The nurses experienced verbal abuse an average of 3.70±2.06 times a week, physical threat an average of 2.30±1.71 times a month, and physical assault an average of 0.76±0.82 times a year. The Experiences of workplace violence were significantly increased post-traumatic stress disorder. The result also showed that resilience moderated the relationship between the experience of verbal abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder in hospital nurses. However, there was no significant moderating effect of social support between workplace violence and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Conclusion: The experiences of workplace violence influenced post-traumatic stress disorder in nurses and were moderated by resilience. Therefore, hospital administrators need to develop and provide a workplace violence prevention and resilience reinforcement program to reduce post-traumatic stress disorder in nurses. In addition, we suggest further research on the effect of social support in a workplace on the experiences of violence.
